This dress design looks like a perfect piece for a museum! From a fashion perspective. Almost identical to something that can be found at a fossil site somewhere deep in earth. The cut out pieces of the dress would give it a rough texture if you were to run over the dress with your eyes closed. The same texture that would be found in this sand dollar fossil!

Who knew insects could be so fashionable? This dress clearly screams fur on the top piece but that would be too easy. Extremely soft and delicate to the touch, this fuzzy caterpillar can provide the same soothing feel...

When you first see this dress you automatically think sponge texture. Which is expected... but when going in depth there are things like fungi that feel the exact same. Who knew? This packed texture on this dress can be related to the spindle shaped yellow coral.

What's more girly than a Valentino dress? That's right... almost nothing. Valentino's delicate touch can most definitely be compared to the softness of a flower. The ripples on the top part of the dress can only be described with something as soft as a bouquet of Calla Lilies. Both soft to the touch. Classic and elegant.

lobster inspiration

If this dress isn't dead on I don't know what is... I'm really wondering if the inspiration behind this idea came from a Kiwa Hirsuta? The texture is so precise that it almost seems it was indeed a lobster inspiration. The claws of the lobster are densely packed just like the flow of the dress giving it an almost exact feel. Another modern day creature of Chanel!

This classic tweed dress by Chanel has a lot going on in the most simple manner. The bottom of the dress has such a unique texture. It almost seems to blend in with the tweed. The first thing that came to mind looking at this was a bird of some sort and I feel this Western Crowned Pigeon describes the texture perfectly. While the feathers are close together, the ends of the crown are equivalent to the ends of the dress. While the body of the feathers
have the same texture as the tweed. The Western Crowned Pigeon, our modern day Chanel bird.

oyster roast!

Alexander McQueen had a lot of nature going on this Spring. A lot of nature with a lot of texture. This well defined dress with it's deep ripple effect is a perfect example of the texture of an oyster. The oyster is obviously hard on the outside and soft on the inside. Which is shown through this dress... outside of the ripple effect the structure is very sturdy but it seems to soften as the ripple meets in the middle.
